Q What should I do if my Android phone shows “feature conflict” when connecting?
If your Android phone shows “feature conflict” when connecting to PandaVPN, please troubleshoot as follows:
- Uninstall and reinstall PandaVPN. When the system asks to create a VPN connection during the first connection, tap “Allow” or “OK.”
- If it still cannot connect, restart your phone and try again. You can also try resetting the phone’s network settings.
- Open phone system settings, go to VPN settings, and check whether there are other VPN connections.
- If another VPN has “Always-on VPN” enabled, turn off that option first, then reconnect PandaVPN.
If the issue remains, please update to the latest PandaVPN client and try again.
Permission and background running
6 answersFix VPN permission, background running, screen lock, and automatic disconnect issues.
Q Why does Android request VPN permission?
This is the normal security confirmation process in Android. PandaVPN needs VPN permission to establish a secure connection on your device.
When connecting for the first time, tap Allow or OK in the system pop-up. Please grant VPN permission only to the official PandaVPN app.
Q What should I do if I cannot tap “OK” on the VPN connection request during first connection on Android?
When the Android client connects for the first time, the system will show a VPN connection request. If you cannot tap “OK,” please try the following:
- Turn off Eye Comfort Mode, dark eye protection, blue light filter, or similar display enhancement features, then try again.
- If full-screen mode or gesture navigation is enabled, temporarily turn it off and reconnect.
- Close other apps that may display floating windows, such as phone manager apps, translation floating windows, or screen recording tools.
- Restart PandaVPN and connect again.
After completing the steps above, tap Connect again and confirm the system VPN request.
Q How do I allow PandaVPN to run in the background?
Open Android system settings, go to Apps, find PandaVPN, then check the permissions related to Battery, background running, mobile data, and notifications.
We recommend allowing PandaVPN to run in the background and setting battery usage to unrestricted or allowing background activity. Setting names may vary slightly depending on the device brand and system version.
Q What should I do if PandaVPN disconnects after the screen locks?
This is usually because Android’s battery-saving policy restricts background running. Please check your battery optimization, background running, and network restriction settings.
We recommend allowing PandaVPN to run in the background and turning off battery optimization or power-saving restrictions for PandaVPN.
Q What should I do if the Android client disconnects automatically and cannot stay running in the background?
If the Android client disconnects automatically, it is usually because the system restricts PandaVPN from running in the background. Please adjust the following settings:
- Open phone Settings, go to App Management, and find PandaVPN.
- Allow PandaVPN to run in the background, and enable permissions such as auto-start and associated launch.
- In Battery settings, set PandaVPN to “Unrestricted” or turn off battery optimization.
- Allow PandaVPN to use background data to avoid restrictions from Data Saver mode.
- If your phone manager or security center has background cleaning or power-saving protection, add PandaVPN to the whitelist.
After finishing the settings, reopen PandaVPN and connect to a server.
Android brand and app conflicts
4 answersCheck Samsung, Xiaomi, other VPN apps, and Android system conflicts that may affect PandaVPN.
Q What should I check on Samsung phones?
On Samsung phones, please check whether PandaVPN has been added to Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps.
We recommend allowing background activity for PandaVPN in battery settings and removing PandaVPN from the Sleeping apps list to reduce disconnections after the screen is locked.
Q What should I do if my Samsung phone has connection drops?
Connection drops on Samsung phones are usually related to system restrictions on background network usage or battery optimization. Please follow these steps:
- Open phone Settings, go to Apps, and find PandaVPN.
- Go to Mobile Data or Data Usage settings, and enable options such as “Allow background data usage,” “Allow data usage while Data Saver is on,” or “Allow unrestricted data usage.”
- Go to Battery settings, set PandaVPN to “Unrestricted” or “No restrictions,” and make sure PandaVPN is not added to Sleeping Apps or Deep Sleeping Apps.
- If Power Saving Mode, Data Saver, or Ultra Power Saving Mode is enabled, we recommend turning it off before using PandaVPN.
- After finishing the settings, fully close PandaVPN and open it again to connect.
If the connection still drops, try changing the server or protocol, and make sure you have updated to the latest PandaVPN client.
Q What should I check on Xiaomi phones?
On Xiaomi phones, check whether PandaVPN is restricted by system battery saving or background management.
We recommend allowing PandaVPN to auto-start, turning off power-saving restrictions, and allowing background running. You can also lock PandaVPN in recent tasks to prevent the system from clearing it automatically.
